Maryhouse

Maryhouse is a faith-based house of hospitality, owned by Saint John's Church, located next to Saint John's Cemetery. As a ministry of Saint John's, Maryhouse seeks to use the spirit of its mentor, Dorothy Day (http://www.catholicworker.org/) to guide its mission to provide temporary housing, nourishment and compassion for women and children in times of crisis. Food and housing is provided at no cost to Maryhouse guests and trained volunteers assist them through this transition time as guests make plans for their future. Maryhouse is all volunteer operated - from a Board of Directors, to people who maintain the building and grounds, provide short-term transportation, serve as mentors and/or provide financial support for its operation.
